Aims
Abbotsmead Community Development Centre is a local facility, which offers opportunities for people in the community to develop their skills and access training that has not previously been available to them.
The centre aims to provide:
- An informal, but positively challenging learning atmosphere.
- Opportunities for personal development – leisure, confidence, self-esteem and qualifications.
- Enhanced employment opportunities.
- Access for training and services for local business organisations.
- Community involvement in identification and generation of needs and opportunities.
- Provision for future learning and recreation within the community.
Mission Statement
We aim to provide a local centre, which will offer opportunities for people in the community to develop their skills and access training that has not been available to them.
The centre will provide
- An informal learning atmosphere, which people will find friendly, yet at the same time be stimulating and challenging.
- Members of our community the opportunity to succeed.
- Increase their confidence and self-esteem.
- Openings to new employment opportunities.
Through the involvement of everyone living in the area, the centre will eventually be seen as an integral part of the community. We hope they will help to shape the way in which the centre evolves and feel a sense of ownership of it.
Not only individuals but also groups and local businesses will be able to participate in activities held within our centre.
